As we celebrate the 4th of July, the day of our independence, it is good to look at how and why our nation came into being. In the New Testament book of Hebrews 1:2...hath in these last days spoken unto us by his son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds. There were three leading men of the United States (T. Roosevelt, Grover Cleveland, and John Hay). One made the following statement about God’s Word: No social fabric of modern states has a surer foundation than the Bible, especially in a Republic like ours, which rests upon the moral character and educated judgment of the individual. No thoughtful man can doubt that the decrease the circulation of the Bible, and its use, among the people would seriously menace the highest interests of civilized humanity. The
very power of the church and the people of God rest on the Word of God,
for in it, God hath spoken. The very fate of our nation rest in the
hands of The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Let His name be praised
forever.
